How do you typically feel after extended time spent on social media or other fast-paced platforms?

10 out of 10 answered

really depends on the use i've given to these platforms, i'll feel guilt if i consider it "mindless consumption" and feel good when i've spent the time on researching fulfilling things. lately 50%/50% split
Relaxed
immersed
scattered
Blank
Like I should be doing something else more productive.
mentally drained, overstimulated, distracted
It depends on the nature of the platform, how I'm engaging, and what I'm doing on there. Scrolling through feeds without seeing anything interesting or thoughtprovoking can make me feel dull, lethargic, uninspired, but seeing engaging creative material or having good conversations with people through social media can improve my mood or make me feel energised and inspired.
Distracted, and detatched
Like I've wasted my day.

Have you ever sought out digital experiences designed to slow you down or encourage reflection (e.g., meditation apps, digital journals)?

10 out of 10 answered

i've used Medito for meditation but journalling has all been done in physical forms since i feel like actually handwriting makes me thing more "honestly" (as in in more of a private space, typing in a keyboard always feels performative or bound to an audience)
Once by using a meditation app, but didn't engage in any meditation practices after.
no
Yes, I have tried journal apps, mood tracking apps, meditation apps, screen-time-limiting apps, etc many times (some of them I have tried to get into the same app multiple times) but none of them seem to stick as a habit that overcomes the pull of other media.

Yes. Our Daily Bread
I've tried meditation apps and a mindfulness VR app called Tripp

Yes! I love to find innovative ways that people use the internet to create spaces for different ways of interacting with people and their own thoughts.

Have you experienced digital content that felt particularly meaningful, immersive, or reflective? If so, could you describe that experience?

10 out of 10 answered

i've found philosophy blogs or youtube videos that have changed the way i see life. i have participated in online forums dedicated to art discussion that has led me to very rich emotional and introspective experiences.
I'm big into video games and find that some of my most meaningful and immersive memories are through video games. My most recent would be with my guild in a video game. The past few years with them has been incredibly meaningful.
it was a political podcast that showed some signs of hope i.e. meaningful
Usually these have been long form written pieces, or thoughtful sort of video lectures. Some of the more meaningful ones had prompts to encourage a pause and reflect, but not necessarily actually demanding any response from you, just leaving it up to you to put into the experience as much as you are willing.
Video games or movies on a big TV in a dark room
Prayer Reels and Bible apps
there is a fitness influencer named Noel Deyzel who makes great content about self reflection, self love, and self preservation
Interviews/conversations/presentations/lectures can be incredibly insightful and help me think in a different way.
No
Yes, I can't remember what the name of the website is, but it was like a labyrinth of colors, and it went on infinitely and you could click to move a certain direction (up, down, left or right), and that felt especially immersive.
