INTRODUCTION

Here's a little overview of us and our fund:

We're GirlDreamer and we create greater access to leadership and wellbeing opportunities for young women of colour to tackle social and economic inequity. We do this through grant funding, capacity-building programmes and psychologically safe spaces.

We're a small non-profit that knows only too well of the challenges with funding and sustaining your organisation. We also know there's a funding gap and not enough is reaching orgs like you, so we've decided to enter the space and play our small part in changing that.

We receive funding and invest profits we make from our sales, donors and funders to provide small, unrestricted, grants to micro-organisations that are founded/led by young women of colour to help you kickstart, continue or develop your important work. In this case, this particular round of funding is supported by Hatch Enterprise.

Hatch Enterprise is a national charity that supports underrepresented entrepreneurs from across the UK to imagine, launch, and grow businesses that are sustainable, successful, and have a positive and lasting impact on their communities.

They're committed to building a fairer society by helping develop entrepreneurs’ skills, knowledge, and confidence through our unique programmes designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, and our sustainable, compassionate financial support offering.

They're a charity with a strong business mindset. Since 2014, we’ve supported nearly 10,000 UK entrepreneurs to flourish, building a vibrant network of partners, funders, and investors who share our vision in the process.

We also know from lots of experience that funding applications are long, make little sense at times and filled with language that can be hard to understand. We know you do great things and need the money ASAP to continue your work, so we promise we have tried to make this as easy as possible whilst still ensuring due diligence on our behalf.
