MBG RSVP for Open Problems Series with Dr. Garrett Rappazzo (Adimab)
Join us on November 9, 5-6 PM in 76-156 (Luria Auditorium), to hear from Dr. Garrett Rappazzo, senior scientist at Adimab, on developing broadly neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2.
Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for broadly active countermeasures to combat both the recurrent spillover of coronaviruses into human populations and the continued evolution of SARS-CoV-2. Garrett will speak on the discovery, optimization, and evaluation of ADG20, a clinical-stage SARS-CoV-2 monoclonal antibody that provides best-in-class broad and potent neutralization of SARS-like coronaviruses. It also retains its activity against emerging variants of concern and provides robust prophylactic protection against SARS-CoV-2 in animal models. Therefore, ADG20 represents a promising candidate for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, as well as future respiratory diseases caused by pre-emergent SARS-like coronaviruses.
