2025 Good Brick Award Nomination Form
Preservation Houston has presented the Good Brick Awards since 1979 to recognize outstanding local contributions to the preservation, rehabilitation and enhancement of Houston’s architectural and cultural heritage.
Anyone may submit a Good Brick Award nomination. Nominating yourself will not affect your chance of receiving an award. If the nominator does not own the property, the signed approval of the current property owner is required to enter the award competition and to use photos of the property in awards publicity.
Projects must be located in Harris County and must have been completed within five years of the year of nomination (2020–2024). Although historic buildings are generally considered to be 50 years or older, a significant newer project may qualify for an award.
To be considered by the Good Brick Awards jury, a nomination must consist of:
+ The completed nomination form, including a project summary statement of 500 words or fewer
+ Illustration pages including images laid out and captioned to explain the progress and scope of your project, if appropriate, as well as high-resolution digital files of every image included in the image sheets (these images are required for building/physical site projects; we'll give you details later in the process)
+ A nonrefundable $150 nomination fee, which you'll be able to pay when you complete this form
Nominations that do not include all the components listed above will not be forwarded to the jury.
If a nominated project is chosen for a Good Brick Award, the award recipient agrees to purchase a table or ticket for the Cornerstone Dinner and attend the event or send a representative to accept their award.
