Welsh Government Culture Sector Climate and Nature Survey

This research is being conducted by Regen in partnership with Carbon Trust and the Energy Saving Trust from a call-off request from the Welsh Government Energy Service Framework.

Introduction

The "Climate Action Wales – Public Engagement Strategy 2023-26" identifies a key role for the culture sector in Wales to exemplify action and engage on the climate and nature emergencies.

Your answers will help us evaluate the sector’s current attitude, behaviours, understanding and approach to the climate and nature emergencies. Your valuable input will guide us in determining the most effective ways to support the sector's advancement.

This survey welcomes responses on the broad range of actions and issues surrounding the "climate and nature emergencies" including, but not limited to:
- Climate mitigation and net zero: cutting greenhouse gas emissions to limit global temperature rises.
- Climate adaptation: making changes to protect our health, homes and communities from the impacts of climate change, e.g., flood defences.
- Circular economy: reducing waste and limiting material extraction by reusing, repairing, and sharing products.
- Environmental protection and nature recovery: managing air, land, and water quality to safeguard our health and restore that of local ecosystems.
- Just Transition: ensuring inequalities are not created nor exacerbated during the transition – better yet, using the opportunity to reduce or remove them. This also includes any activity which meaningfully involves affected communities and marginalised groups.
