Open Call for Nominations

Presented annually since 2001, MASterworks Awards recognize projects that exemplify excellence in architecture and urban design, making a significant contribution to New York City’s built environment.

The 2024 call for nominations is now open through Friday, July 12th at 11:59 PM ET. All nominated projects must be located in New York City and have been completed in 2023. Projects can be nominated in up to two of the following categories.

1) Best New Building for outstanding architectural design
2) Best Urban Landscape for a new or revitalized open space that contributes to livability and resilience
3) Best Restoration for a project that expertly enhances the original qualities of a significant historic building or structure
4) Best Adaptive Reuse for a project that demonstrates exceptional creativity in adaptive reuse of an existing building or structure
5) Best New Infrastructure for distinctive design in public
service projects
6) Best New Urban Amenity for an addition to the built environment that contributes to a more livable city
7) Best Environmental Innovation for an exceptional project that enhances the environmental resiliency of the city

Every year, MAS convenes an esteemed jury of architects, designers, preservationists, scholars, and critics to select the winners of the MASterworks Awards. This year's jury will be announced in July.

Winning projects will be honored this fall with a public program series featuring in-person explorations of project sites and virtual conversations with project teams. Details to be announced.
