Refugee Welcome Week 2025 is a week long program that ends with a united march. We believe in ‍radical hope, rooted in resilience and social justice.

We invite grassroots groups to submit transformative event ideas that centers refugees as active agents and builds solidarity and resistance across communities to counter hate and push back against harmful policies, and the global apartheid system: Structural inequalities and restrictions imposed by borders, citizenship, and mobility regimes that privilege some while marginalizing refugees, migrants, and the displaced.

Your ideas will help us create a week of powerful, inspiring activities that challenge hate, xenophobia, and exclusionary policies.

To ensure your event reflects the collective values and goals of Refugee Welcome Week, please review this checklist before submitting your proposal.

Your event should:
✅ Align with the RWW theme and values (radical hope, solidarity, inclusion)
✅ Center refugee and migrant voices, experiences, and leadership
✅ Go beyond PR — not just promoting your own project, but contributing to a shared movement
✅ Be open and accessible to displaced communities and the general public
✅ Encourage participation, dialogue, or creativity, not just one-way communication
✅ Use RWW branding and messaging in your outreach
✅ Support the bigger narrative of collective action, not a standalone showcase

We encourage events that are community-led, collaborative, and challenge systems of exclusion while celebrating belonging and joy.
